We paid hundreds of dollars in extra baggage fees, but we know our customers will appreciate the new items. In addition to our personal acquisitions, our staff were busy

picking up new items as well. I hope to have pictures as soon as we get to the shop today.

We are looking forward to seeing you all in the near future. We are reinvigorated and ready to start bringing in lots of great new vintage on a daily basis.

Bad Weather Doesn’t Stop us from getting cool stuff

Let it snow, rain, freeze and we don’t stop hunting for cool items to bring  to our shop. We were busy every day buying items from homes and warehouses so that our customers are always exposed to unique items. Even though our warehouse is full, that doesn’t stop Elliot from bringing in even more stuff.

We went to Hartford Connecticut and picked up some great pieces of Herman Miller furniture designed by George Nelson in the 1950’s. We also got some great vintage tv sets from the 50’s & 1960’s. We also got a dog tag machine that was used during world war one. Another cool item we got is a antique pediatric dental chair which would make  great display in any store. We also got a vintage coca cola freezer.

From a former hunter we purchased over 20 vintage European mount antlers and other hunting related items. That home also had a bunch of mid century modern items which we purchased as well. Mid century office chairs, record racks and a nice lane side table. We also purchased a nice butcher block commercial sewing table. It still works as a heavy duty sewing machine but can easily be converted into a industrial desk or workbench. We also got a nice wood machinist tool box loaded with machinist tools.

We brought in many more items including all in one record players, mirrors, large wood drop leaf table, rocking chair from an insane asylum, vintage radios, mid century modern dressers, mid century modern desks, metal milk crates, vintage scales, vintage tools, vintage signs, vintage art, benches, radio flyer wagon, fireplace fronts, fireplace accessories, entrance boards from a funeral parlor, and much much more.

So much stuff to see at our massive warehouse sale. Come in and check out the deals that come in daily by following us on instagram @reuseamericany

Get your last minute Vintage Holiday Gifts today

We have been busy purchasing unique vintage gift items for the shop. We know many of our customers and friends are going back home for the holidays and they are looking for that one of a kind item. Well we have lots of hard to find items, in fact we have thousands of unique items in our massive warehouse. Many people come in for one item and spend hours searching thru our massive collection of hidden treasures. If you are looking for a gift for that true vintage lover or looking for something unique to place in your apartment…Reuse America is the place for you. We bring in over 1,000 items each week.

This week we purchased the contents of an estate in Connecticut of an elderly woman who collected everything. We spent the entire day digging thru endless items in her basement and attic. We uncovered so many cool items. Each box we opened was a revelation of history and her life and we heard many stories about their use in her life. She kept everything in sealed bags and boxes so it was a tedious task revealing her treasures, but it was well worth it since we obtained so many unique items that we have not seen before. She had many mid century modern gems mixed in with her antique items….it was a wonderful experience.

Then we went to a nice home in Ditmas Park Brooklyn where we purchased some nice mid century furniture from a Victorian home on a quiet street. We were expecting the home to be full of antiques which we generally dont buy, but we were surprised to find a nice mid century credenza and bar, a stunning mid century modern desk, mid century round table, recliner, dressers,

Danish modern lounge chair set, mid century modern bar cart, mid century chrome and glass side table set, some amazing mid century pottery, great mid century lighting and a bunch of vintage oriental items.

Thursday is going to be another adventurous day as we have 3 appointments ranging from queens to New Jersey. Be sure to check out our instagram for our daily discoveries @reuseamericany.

WE ARE FULLY LOADED WITH GREAT MID CENTURY MODERN FURNITURE

Since we have been closed for our “vacation” – road trip, we have been filling our warehouse with great vintage finds. We started locally with an apartment in Brighton Beach Brooklyn. We were called to a one bedroom apartment not expecting much so we came with just the van. When I was greeted at the door my jaw dropped to the floor. It was mid-century heaven. Every piece of furniture was modern from the 1960’s. The grand-daughter explained to me how the furniture was acquired and it was very interesting. Her grandmother left Poland in 1963 and she wanted to move to the USA. When she was ready to leave they told her that she could not take cash with her only material items. So she took all her money and purchased the best furniture available at the time. She made sure to buy top of the line furniture including an identical desk that the president of Poland had in his office. Although these pieces of furniture do not have the makers mark on them, they are very high quality pieces I am sure they are designer.

I then told the woman to wait for me as I needed to get my box truck. We ended up filling the entire box truck with amazing pieces including that large mid century desk, gorgeous mid century burl wood couch sleeper combo, amazing burl wood bar cart, china cabinet, dressers, vanity, chairs, tables and more.

Then we were off to upstate New York on the hunt for more mid century pieces. that part of town is a desert for modern furniture. After many visits, we found only a few pieces. That didn’t deter us as we went on to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and further. All along the way, we picked up cool pieces of furniture, lighting, mirrors and more. All the items are in the shop waiting for the grand reveal on Sunday October 15th when we reopen at 10am.

We also managed to purchase the contents of a surgical supply company which was in business since 1922 and we filled up the entire box truck with many unique items including many interesting medical bottles, glass syringes, industrial cabinets galore, butcher block work tables and much much more. These items with be unloaded next week. Keep posted on our instagram @reuseamericany for the latest on those items.

Meanwhile we are still on the road today wednesday picking up some great mid century modern dressers, a really nice wall divider and if we can fit a stunning retro Kroehler sectional couch.

PLEASE REMEMBER: WE WILL BE CLOSED TILL WE REOPEN SUNDAY OCTOBER 15th at 10am so all the goodies will be available then.

Looking forward to seeing you Sunday October 15th at our

vintage warehouse at 387 Bushwick Avenue Brooklyn.

On our way back to Brooklyn, we stopped into a nice home in New Jersey and we scored some great mid century pieces. We got a nice 2 piece danish modern walnut couch set in great condition and a super 2 piece walnut danish lounge chair set. More Mid Century Modern Gems?

We spend 5 days a week buying items for our vintage warehouse in Bushwick. We travel all over the place and we never know what we will find from one house to the next. A nice elderly woman in Staten Island called us to tell us she was moving and needed to sell most of her items as she was moving into an apartment from a large home. When we went in, we were disappointed as most of the furniture was not what we sell. As we were about to leave I asked if there was anything in the basement of the house. All I can say was WOW when we went down the stairs.

There was a stunning Mid century modern bright red electric fireplace from the 1960’s,  also a real nice mid century floor lamp, a stunning mid century modern Basset desk/dresser combo, a mid century cane rocking chair, some art and a bunch of smalls.

Then we traveled to a loft in Chelsea in Manhattan, where a lovely model was leaving New York to California and couldn’t take it all with her so we purchased a really nice heavy duty Mid century modern long dresser and 2 side tables made in Denmark. We also purchased a Danish modern stunning desk in great condition, 2 great wrought iron garment racks and also  10 really nice leather chairs made in Italy which are really different as they can be put together to make a bench or love seat.

We also got some awesome multi panel window panes from a home being renovated in Brooklyn. We actually spent the entire day removing the windows ourselves to make sure they didnt get ruined. We also purchased a heavy vintage french door with heavy leaded beveled glass.

We also got a call from a restaurant which was closing down. We purchased a bunch of cool convertible butcher block tables which go from square to round with ease. You have to see them in person to appreciate them, they have nice cast iron
