Incredible collection of Handmade Rugs and so much more

This week we purchased over 300 vintage rugs including Handmade persian rugs, Lots of Kilim rugs, and a few Rya rugs. Our warehouse is overflowing with these great pieces. We also brought in lots of other great vintage and mid century modern pieces of furniture and of course a bunch of mid century chairs and stools. Our chair section is overflowing with quality chairs. We also organized our floor lamp section so you can choose from over 20 mid century floor lamps. We also have over 10 mid century floor freestanding coat racks. We even brought in some amazing vintage winter coats and we will be bringing in many more cool vintage jackets and coats.

Every day we go out and meet some great people as we visit homes in New York and New Jersey. Some days we buy select pieces from each home and some days we are lucky and we get lots of great mid century and other vintage items.

The Mid Century Modern Madness Continues
Hey mid century modern lovers. We went hunting for mid century modern furniture this week and we were succesful indeed.
Monday morning, we purchased some real nice pieces from a retiring doctor and his wife who were moving overseas and they can’t take all their furniture with them. We purchased a stunning “Century” mid century modern credenza with wrought iron legs and 2 lovely wrought iron and walnut book shelves as well as a nice Paul Mccobb coffee table, a fiberglass Herman miller type shell chair and some nice mid century glassware still in the box. The doctor had a huge collection of elephants made out of wood, ivory, stone and other natural materials…… but unfortunately he didn’t want to sell any of those items. When we arrived to unload the truck a gentleman in a suv passed by and said he had to have the shelving unit i was unloading. So sorry folks, the bookshelf is gone already.
Tuesday, we received a call from a couple moving to florida from the upper east side. The views from the apartment were amazing and I wanted to stay there for hours to enjoy the view, but off to work we went wrapping up the great mid century modern bedroom set and some really awesome and comfortable parson chairs which are made in the style of Milo Baugham. We also purchased a great teak expandable teak Danish modern Clausen & Sons dining table which expands from 53″x34.5″ to 94″x34.5″ x 28.5″ tall. This table is perfect for those upcoming holiday dinners. We also purchased a matching danish modern Clausen & Sons credenza which would look great in any home.
Tuesday evening, I visited an art studio and purchased two 3’x5′ heavy duty work tables which can be used as solid workbenches or large desks.
It;s Wednesday morning and we are on the road again to bring even more treasures into our overflowing vintage warehouse. Help us make room so that I can feed my addiction and bring even more cool items into the shop.

For all you mid century modern furniture seekers, you need to come in and check out the new arrivals. We loaded up with great mid century modern furniture. We worked like crazy this week bringing in great stuff to Bushwick.
We worked from morning till night every day this week obtaining great items to our Bushwick warehouse at 387 Bushwick Avenue. We brought in So many great mid century dressers and 
 that we spent 2 hours  just rearranging things just to make them fit. They are now displayed nicely for you to check out. We also brought in a nice crackled paint armoire and a cool wood collapsible bar cart made in Russia in the 1960’s. Of course I had to bring in 12 new mirrors to fill our already crowded mirror section.
For those of you who like mid century modern lighting, we brought in 5Â new retro floor lamps, 7Â new mid century table lamps and a totally unique shelving unit with unique lighting built in.
Totally not furniture related but cool vintage nonetheless, a brand new vintage Deblasi folding bike made in italy and a Minn Kota Trolling motor and a gasoline powered motor as well. 3 large brass vases made in spain from the 1960’s, retro thick square cork blocks from the 1960’s as well. For those of you that like carnival glass, we brought in a nice set  in perfect condition. Retro records shelves, book shelves, cool mid century wood and leather tuffeted chairs.
We also brought in a pair of Milo Baughman vinyl accent chairs. We also got the matching sofa which we will be bringing in shortly.
We brought in 7 overflowing cargo vans  of stuff this week and we are planning another busy week next week, so stay tuned for the latest arrivals
We also loaded up our thrift store at 1158 flatbush avenue with a bunch of cool stuff like oriental furniture, automatic shirt presser and many more items. Everything is drastically reduced to sell as we need to clear out inventory at super low prices.

So many interesting items keep coming in, You never know what you will find!
Each day, we go picking all over the city and upstate New York and we bring the items to our warehouses in Brooklyn. We purchased an estate in Boro Park on Monday and we worked 2 days bringing the items to our Bushwick location. A nice elderly couple is moving to Florida after living in the home for over 65 years. One can only imagine what a family gathers over the years and this house was packed with great finds.
Each room had treasures everywhere. Many items have been unseen for over 30 years, so it was like a new discovery for the homeowner as well. First we went into the basement, my personal favorite spot and we pulled out lots of small wood boxes from the tool room along with many other interesting small items. Every nook and cranny was filled with vintage treasures. From a box of old skeleton keys, to purple crystal door knobs, to old license plates, there were cool items everywhere.
We also found a first for us, a manual skeleton key making device in a nice wood cabinet… a real unique find. The homeowner told us that his grand father used to make skeleton keys as a side job in the 1800’s. Vintage garbage cans, handmade wood tool carrier, old work light, industrial lighting, old candle sconces, old paintings,  were also nice finds. The closets were filled with interesting finds as well. A nice set of pink Lucent plastic dish set, old canning equipment, milk glass and more were pulled out.
As we moved around the house we found a nice set of 3 teak and brass duck wall hangings. A bunch of vintage kodak cameras, old marbles, a portable bar kit in a box, old metal table top hair dryer, some cool enamelware, some interesting tins including one personal favorite (windsor glide powder for dance floors, a powder that you put on dance floors so you can do the 2 step with ease)
The best was yet to come, as we went up thru a winding staircase to a huge attic apartment. In it we found the groovy stuff. Mid century modern dressers, 4 mid century modern chairs by miller murphy, which my assistant thought was a partner of herman miller, which is not the case…but it was a cool find. We also got a well made george nelson slat bench in great condition and other nice small pieces.
Then we headed to the garage and found 3Â great wood long benches, a antique cast iron coffee grinder, nice vintage wood ladder and a great bike shaped planter and much more.
There is still so much more stuff in that home, and the homeowner will be having us back in a few weeks to get more goodies.

We were busy this week picking…..
Elliot was busy this week picking in Brooklyn. Yes Brooklyn has some cool places to get some great old stuff. Many of our followers would love to go on a pick with us so we will give some lucky folks a chance in the future. Simply go to our facebook page @ReuseAmericaVintage and like us. We were in the basement of an old tailor shop and we pulled out a nice commercial ironing table with a cast iron base from a factory, we think its from the 1940’s. Anyways it will make a great one of a kind bar to the lucky person who picks this up. We also got over 500 vintage ties brand new in the wrapper. Some are from designers like chistian dior and other famous ones. Many many more cool items came from this pick.
we were also fortunate to get a call from someone who was downsizing and we picked up some really cool mid century modern furniture. A table high corner table which is really sturdy. A pair of Knoll style wire stools. A pair of Valeigh Mid century modern side tables / coffee table which will make any room look fabulous.
We also picked up some great industrial pieces including a bunch of industrial tables and metal bases as well as 6 industrial lamps in great condition.
We got a call from a butcher company in the Bronx  to go thru his warehouse before he closes his business. We didn’t get much from him though, but it was a learning experience. We got a stainless steel meat rack, meat hooks with sliders on them and an industrial coat rack which held the uniforms of the workers of the plant
Right before closed for the day today an old car collector came to visit the store and he said he had some cool things to sell us. I was sceptical at first and then he pulled out some random parts from his pickup truck. These 1930’s car parts are going to make someone really the talk of the town. We got this great flare fender which would make a unique coffee table as is, but we will be improving on it this coming week. We also got the dashboard with the old dials and the front windshield which our talented woodworker buck will be making into yet another great coffee table.
All in all we brought 4 overflowing cargo vans full of stuff into our warehouse. Lots of great items to get. Some pictures are posted below.

Some people say that women like to go shopping…. Well I am a man and I love to shop everyday…for vintage that is.
I have been busy this week working my butt off the past 2 days in the rain. I have to tell you it is hard loading up the van in the rain. I usually like to overload the van with stuff attached to the top of the van, but I cant do that in the rain. Thank goodness the rain is gone, so I can load up today with lots of great stuff. Our bushwick location is packed with great items and today we will be loading up our thrift store located at 1158 flatbush avenue in ditmas park with lots of nice stuff. For those of you who havnt visited our thrift store recently, we have been reorganizing it and it is a much better shopping experience than it has been in the past. The hours for our flatbush avenue location is Sunday 12-7pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 11-7:30pm, Friday 11-4pm.

We got in some really nice items this week and a pair of tall oak cabinets which we removed from a warehouse in Brooklyn. We are offering $75 in merchandise to the first 2 people who guess what these cabinets were used for.
