Unique Items galore….

This past week we got called to some interesting homes and got lots of interesting items. We were informed of a building that was being torn down and we had 2 hours to remove the items that we were interested in. The pressure was crazy, but we were able to pull out some really great items. A 1940’s motorized schwinn bike, light up advertising clock from Armstrong flooring, lots of unique metal signs and so much more. We also purchased a bunch of mid century modern furniture from 2 estates in long island and we purchased over 20 mirrors from a mirror hoarder in the Bronx. This person had a huge home with 7 horse stalls which were converted to garages and they were packed with stuff. As we dug deeper we found 4 saarinen chairs and a matching table. The other items were not interesting enough for us but the mirrors and the table set were great finds.

Then we were off to a hoarder home in Brooklyn where there were hundreds of banana boxes full of stuff nicely organized and labeled. We filled the truck up with lots of vintage dolls, old toys, lots of vintage radios,

advertising, some vintage clothing, tools, and the coolest wrigley gum store displays and some tic tac displays.

We also purchased over 40 cool bar stools and vintage wood folding theater seats from a bar that closed down in williamsburg.

We are off to a home in Greenpoint this morning, so who knows what we will be finding there.

We go searching for great stuff every day. You never know what we will find. One thing is for sure, we are always bringing in new items each and every day. To keep on top of the latest discoveries, please check our instagram @reuseamericany.

The Mid Century Modern Madness Continues

Hey mid century modern lovers. We went hunting for mid century modern furniture this week and we were succesful indeed.

Monday morning, we purchased some real nice pieces from a retiring doctor and his wife who were moving overseas and they can’t take all their furniture with them. We purchased a stunning “Century” mid century modern credenza with wrought iron legs and 2 lovely wrought iron and walnut book shelves as well as a nice Paul Mccobb coffee table, a fiberglass Herman miller type shell chair and some nice mid century glassware still in the box. The doctor had a huge collection of elephants made out of wood, ivory, stone and other natural materials…… but unfortunately he didn’t want to sell any of those items. When we arrived to unload the truck a gentleman in a suv passed by and said he had to have the shelving unit i was unloading. So sorry folks, the bookshelf is gone already.

Tuesday, we received a call from a couple moving to florida from the upper east side. The views from the apartment were amazing and I wanted to stay there for hours to enjoy the view, but off to work we went wrapping up the great mid century modern bedroom set and some really awesome and comfortable parson chairs which are made in the style of Milo Baugham. We also purchased a great teak expandable teak Danish modern Clausen & Sons dining table which expands from 53″x34.5″ to 94″x34.5″ x 28.5″ tall. This table is perfect for those upcoming holiday dinners. We also purchased a matching danish modern Clausen & Sons credenza which would look great in any home.

Tuesday evening, I visited an art studio and purchased two 3’x5′ heavy duty work tables which can be used as solid workbenches or large desks.

It;s Wednesday morning and we are on the road again to bring even more treasures into our overflowing vintage warehouse. Help us make room so that I can feed my addiction and bring even more cool items into the shop.

Our Hunt for Great Chairs & Stools…was successful

Thursday was certainly an interesting day for us. We received a lead that a large printing company in New Jersey was closing down and we could purchase a whole bunch of items. When we got to the area, we couldnt find the address. We were told its in a huge red building with a large parking lot. After searching the area for over an hour and a half, the only large building was a plumbing manufacturing company. We found an open door and looked in and saw over 100 Herman Miller shell chairs. I approached the first person I saw and asked if I can purchase those chairs. He then told me sorry but they use them for meetings. I then went to his supervisor and he then confirmed that they are not for sale. Oh well, that would have been a good score as those chairs were 6 different cool colors.

We finally got hold of the person who informed me about the printing company and he gave me the correct address. I arrived at the huge facility and negotiated to buy over 100 vintage industrial stools and chairs. As you will see from the following pictures, these are awesome good looking with great patina. Some of these chairs are over 100 years old and were originally used by jewelry companies and watchmakers from New York City. If you have been looking for great stools, this is your chance to get them at great prices. These are great for your home or restaurant and they will sell fast. We also got a bunch of other industrial items from this 100,000 sq ft factory. So come on in and explore the wonderful items that we got. We are located at 387 Bushwick Avenue in Brooklyn.

We are having a total clearance sale at our thrift store at 1158 Flatbush avenue, brooklyn. Everything in the store must be sold at rediculous prices. No reasonable offer will be refused. Sale is until store is emptied. Thursdays 11-8pm, Fridays 11-7pm & Sundays 12-8pm.

Hope to see U

Elliot
