Mid Century Modern Gems this Week in Brooklyn

We were busy this week getting great mid century modern furniture and more at 2 homes in Brooklyn. One home we worked at is at a dead end in the midwood section of brooklyn overlooking the railroad where freight trains travel thru the boro. This was a real nice experience due to the feeling of being at the edge of a forest with lots of birds and greenery. It is pretty serene as the train only passes thru 2 times a day.

Getting back to the items that we got.

We got 3 real nice mid century modern desks one being a Paul McCobb and 2 other really nice ones. A bunch of mid century modern dressers, side tables and some coffee tables, record storage cabinet, chairs, mirrors, and lighting. We also got a whole bunch of mid century modern Plasson chairs that look really cool, A leather doctors bag, vintage clothing, costume jewelry, perfumes and a great metal barrister bookcase.

We worked like crazy this week bringing in great stuff to Bushwick.

We worked from morning till night every day this week obtaining great items to our Bushwick warehouse at 387 Bushwick Avenue. We brought in So many great mid century dressers and LANE SIDE TABLE that we spent 2 hours just rearranging things just to make them fit. They are now displayed nicely for you to check out. We also brought in a nice crackled paint armoire and a cool wood collapsible bar cart made in Russia in the 1960’s. Of course I had to bring in 12 new mirrors to fill our already crowded mirror section.

For those of you who like mid century modern lighting, we brought in 5 new retro floor lamps, 7 new mid century table lamps and a totally unique shelving unit with unique lighting built in.

Totally not furniture related but cool vintage nonetheless, a brand new vintage Deblasi folding bike made in italy and a Minn Kota Trolling motor and a gasoline powered motor as well. 3 large brass vases made in spain from the 1960’s, retro thick square cork blocks from the 1960’s as well. For those of you that like carnival glass, we brought in a nice set in perfect condition. Retro records shelves, book shelves, cool mid century wood and leather tuffeted chairs.

We also brought in a pair of Milo Baughman vinyl accent chairs. We also got the matching sofa which we will be bringing in shortly.

We brought in 7 overflowing cargo vans of stuff this week and we are planning another busy week next week, so stay tuned for the latest arrivals

We also loaded up our thrift store at 1158 flatbush avenue with a bunch of cool stuff like oriental furniture, automatic shirt presser and many more items. Everything is drastically reduced to sell as we need to clear out inventory at super low prices.

Elliot was busy this week picking in Brooklyn. Yes Brooklyn has some cool places to get some great old stuff. Many of our followers would love to go on a pick with us so we will give some lucky folks a chance in the future. Simply go to our facebook page @ReuseAmericaVintage and like us. You will also see daily updates of what we bring into our warehouse.

We were in the basement of an old tailor shop and we pulled out a nice commercial ironing table with a cast iron base from a factory, we think its from the 1940’s. Anyways it will make a great one of a kind bar to the lucky person who picks this up. We also got over 500 vintage ties brand new in the wrapper. Some are from designers like chistian dior and other famous ones. Many many more cool items came from this pick.

we were also fortunate to get a call from someone who was downsizing and we picked up some really cool mid century modern furniture. A table high corner table which is really sturdy. A pair of Knoll style wire stools. A pair of Valeigh Mid century modern side tables / coffee table which will make any room look fabulous.

We also picked up some great industrial pieces including a bunch of industrial tables and metal bases as well as 6 industrial lamps in great condition.

We got a call from a butcher company in the Bronx to go thru his warehouse before he closes his business. We didn’t get much from him though, but it was a learning experience. We got a stainless steel meat rack, meat hooks with sliders on them and an industrial coat rack which held the uniforms of the workers of the plant

Right before closed for the day today an old car collector came to visit the store and he said he had some cool things to sell us. I was sceptical at first and then he pulled out some random parts from his pickup truck. These 1930’s car parts are going to make someone really the talk of the town. We got this great flare fender which would make a unique coffee table as is, but we will be improving on it this coming week. We also got the dashboard with the old dials and the front windshield which our talented woodworker buck will be making into yet another great coffee table.

All in all we brought 4 overflowing cargo vans full of stuff into our warehouse. Lots of great items to get. Some pictures are posted below.

The good stuff keeps coming in to our shop

Elliot just cant control himself. He has to go picking for new stuff everyday. Our warehouse is so full of gems, but we keep squeezing in even more great stuff. Its a good thing some lucky customers picked up some nice pieces of mid century modern furniture the past few days. This allowed us to bring in a bunch of great mid century items and other vintage pieces late Tuesday afternoon.

The madness has not ended with yesterday struck load. Elliot is going on a large pick wednesday. Who knows what he will be bringing in to the warehouse. He will be bringing the box truck for todays pickup as he went to yet another pick up at 10:30 last night. That load has yet to be brought to the shop so no pictures of those items yet. Elliot assured me there are some really great items in that load including some really cool mid century modern lighting, mid century modern wall clocks, mid century modern mirrors, mid century modern tile items and much more. We cant wait to see those items as well.

We have been busy all week buying great stuff for this sundays sale. We are so loaded with great stuff that those who come by will be amazed. We got it a nice selection of vintage wood speakers, some amazing vintage lighting, great pieces of mid century modern furniture and lots of great interesting items not found elsewhere. We got in a bunch of vintage carts as well. Mid century modern clocks galore, mid century modern lighting, a bunch of primative rustic furniture and much much more. If you havnt been to our sales recently, you will see over 200 vintage wood boxes, over 50 pieces of vintage luggage, tons of vintage magazines including adult magazines.

The re are so many hidden treasures at this sale. We have tons of new items that are dispersed thruout the warehouse that people get great deals each and every week. We have collectors that get add great items to their collections and ebay people that get great items as well.
