This week we were busy visiting homes in the New York are as usual. What wasn’t usual was two unique places we visited. Monday morning we were called to a brownstone in the village. From the outside it looked similar to the other homes surrounding it. Upon entering the home we were presented with 3 floors loaded with amazing vintage and antique treasures. When we entered the top floor we were amazed by what we saw. The ceiling was over 20′ tall and had a balcony leading to a loft space. We were informed that this gigantic room was used in the 1930s as a speakeasy during the prohibition. They had burlesque

shows with drinking and gambling at the same time. Going up to the balcony, there were unique mirrors and unique costumes which appeared untouched since those days. This was truly a unique experience and we hope they will accept our bid to purchase all those cool items.

On Wednesday, we went to a giant home in Great Neck NY where we were able to purchase lots of cool items including some mid century modern furniture. We also enjoyed our visit with homeowner whom was selling her home which she lived in for many years. She was a optomitrist and had just closed her in home office. While I was able to purchase some of those items, there were plenty of other cool items she didn’t want to sell as she was donating them to a charity in Peru which helps provide eye checkups and glasses to the needy there. we were touched by the stories she told us of her visits to that poor county and the benefits that the equipment will make to the people there.

Thursday was productive as well as we got a bunch of new mid century modern pieces from a home in Long Island. Lots of great pieces in the shop now for you to furnish and decorate your homes or apartments.
